driving; if not, just watch an episode of COPS. The frightening part is
when drivers don’t realize that they are impaired and then they attempt
to drive. Understanding the seriousness of drunk driving and the
consequences that may occur because of it may persuade some drivers to
avoid this altogether.

- Alcohol related crashes are the leading cause of death of young adults, ages 16 to 24.
- 2 million alcohol related accidents occur every year.
- Almost 13,000 people were killed in the United States alone in alcohol related crashes.
- Fifty to seventy five percent of people who had there license suspended continue to drive.
- The highest percentage of drunk drivers is between the ages of 21-24.
Drunk driving is a dangerous and irresponsible thing to do that threatens other innocent drivers that are on the road. Drivers today, especially the young drivers, must realize how dangerous this is and what a threat it is to themselves and to others. Despite stricter laws being adopted, it is up to the individual driver to be responsible.
If you do make a bad decision and drive drunk, you must be aware of your rights and to know enough about the law to be able to protect yourself.
The best advice of all is to not put yourself into this type of situation in the first place.
